Stacie Blackmore Bio
Stacie Blackmore has been the choir director at Sunrise Middle School since 2022. Prior to teaching at Kearney Public Schools she was the choral director at Cozad Community Schools for 21 years, teaching choir grades 6-12. Mrs. Blackmore earned her undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University and completed her student teaching assignment in San Diego, CA. She earned her Master of Education Degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Throughout her career she has held numerous leadership positions, most recently serving on the Nebraska Music Education Association & NSEA Board of Directors. Mrs. Blackmore has helped her singers participate in choirs all over the country including Sioux Falls, Salt Lake City, Miami, Dallas, Chicago, and New York City to name a few. She enjoys directing honor choir clinics, judging honor choir auditions, and adjudicating music contests. Mrs. Blackmore sings locally with the Platte River Singers where she serves as the soprano/alto section leader. She is married to her husband Woody and has two sons, Sam & Elliott.
