Hello,

My name is Jennifer Hasenauer and I am the Speech Language Pathologist serving students at Sunrise Middle School. I have been at Sunrise for 15 years. Before my time at KPS, I worked for the Educational Service Unit 9 for 5 years. I am an American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certified SLP and earned my bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I have worked with students pre-K-12th grade, but my passion lies with the middle level grades. Middle school is my favorite!! My husband and I have a middle school student of our own (8th grade) and a high school student at KHS as well. I enjoy reading, kayaking, camping, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends!

My day at Sunrise is spent teaching students in small group classes, individually, or in the classroom while co-teaching with the general education teacher. I provide speech and language support in the areas of articulation of sounds, vocabulary, social skills, comprehension (verbal and written), grammar, vocal quality and volume, stuttering, categorizing, and making inferences. Providing students with tools that will help them develop skills for successful learning and social development in the general education setting is what I endeavor to do everyday.
