Industrial Technology
Hello! My name is Mr. Krause and welcome to Sunrise Middle School Industrial Technology. I graduated from UNK and have been a teacher at Sunrise since the fall of 1997.
6th Grade Industrial Technology This hands-on introduction to technology class provides students with the opportunity to discover how it is used and how it impacts students’ lives. Students complete activities based on the areas of communication, transportation, construction and manufacturing. Special emphasis is given to developing problem solving skills, through linear measurement and the study of systems and sub-systems. This is a 6 week course.
7th Grade Industrial Technology Students have the opportunity to explore three to four of the 18 level-one technology modules which include robots, lasers, computers, mechanical trainers, CAD programs, audio and video equipment and prototypes in real life simulations. 7th Grade IT Classes will meet for 1 quarter.
8th Grade Production Technology - 8th Grade Industrial Technology is a semester long class where students will have the opportunity to explore different areas of Industrial Technology. Areas of study include manufacturing, energy-power, and transportation. Power tools and saws are used in this class. A parent permission sheet is sent home and must be signed before using any equipment.
