STUDENT MEDICATION
All prescription and over the counter medication, including inhalers, must be picked up by May 31.  Medication not picked up will be disposed of.
Prescription medication must be picked up by a parent.

SUNRISE MEMORY BOOK
Sunrise students will receive a school memory book free of charge! The books are bought through the fundraising efforts of magazine sales, student picture sales and Student Council. The picture memory books are handed out the last day of school.

7th GRADE HEALTH PHYSICALS
7th grade HEALTH PHYSICALS for the 2013-2014 school year can be completed by your doctor beginning MARCH 1st.  ALL 7th grade students must have a physical and state required immunizations by the first day of school.  The completed health form can be brought to the Sunrise office anytime after completion.

National Academic Competition
National Academic Competition
Fourteen 7th grade students from Sunrise Middle School participated in the Talent Search for academically talented students sponsored by Duke University’s Talent Identification Program.  The students took either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT).  Based on the test scores, eight students qualified to participate in the State Recognition Ceremony. Parents of qualifying students have been notified.

The middle school Kearney Community Learning Center (KCLC) is now accepting enrollments for our 2013 4 two-week long camps. Apply now as space is limited.
(Each camp session is $60 ($30 per week) to accomadate other activities students may be involved with and can not attend the whole session)
1] Mad Scientist: June 3- June 14th ( 7:45 am - 1:00 pm) $30 per week (students prepare for a science fair of their very own)
2] Fort Kearny: June 17th - June 28th (7:45 am - 2:00 pm) $30 per week + $12.50 transportation fee per week (
digging up the past and creating new memories at Fort Kearny)
3] Engineering Fun: July 1st - July 12th (7:45 am - 1:00 pm) $30 per week (
look deeper into the engineering of the Platte River, as well as, creating the water park of their dreams)
4] Creative Cultures: July 15th - July 26th (7:45 am - 2:45 pm) $30
per week (learning about the culture of Africa through drumming and dance provided by Charles Ahovissi)

KHS 5-in-3 SUMMER SCHOOL 

The Kearney High School Summer School program is now open for enrollment to incoming freshman.  Kearney High is offering students the opportunity to earn five high school credits in just three weeks this summer.  The KHS ‘5-in-3’ Summer School gives students the opportunity to catch up or move ahead on needed credits. PE, Algebra, Health, Poly Sci, and Information Technology will be offered in a condensed classroom format from May 21-June 8.  Students who want to make room in their schedules for additional classes or students who need to retake courses are encouraged to register.  KHS requires 10 PE credits for graduation.  The 5-credit courses are $125.   Scholarships are available. **Note KHS PE class will be held at Windy Hills Elementary not at Kenwood as stated on the application form.   CLICK HERE FOR COMPLETE CLASS INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION

Sunrise Information
Sunrise is collecting BOX TOPS, APPLE MARKET RECEIPTS, & SUNMART RECEIPTS.  Please send your box tops and grocery receipts to school with your student. With your help the school can purchase additional items for the classrooms.

STUDENT ACTIVITY TICKETS  Activity Tickets admit students to all regular season football, basketball, volleyball games and wrestling meets at Sunrise and Horizon Middle Schools and Kearney High School.  Activity Tickets can be bought at the school offices.
